Teuvo Sankila to be made responsible for developing business for Otava Education

Teuvo Sankila, MA, has been appointed Publishing Director responsible for educational materials at Otava Publishing Company. The 45-year-old Sankila will begin this work in early 2011. Sankila worked previously at Tammi Publishing Company as director of the unit creating educational materials. He has worked at Otava as a publishing director before and also has work experience from Microsoft, among other companies.

Sankila has strong knowledge of the education sector and a clear view of the paedagogic influence of educational materials. Some educational materials are printed while others are digital, with the choice to be made by the teacher, who will in the future consider in more depth, alongside the publisher, how learning can best be enabled.

Publishing Director Sankila will be responsible for developing the educational materials unit, for the publishing programme, and for the associated revenues. He is a member of the Management Team and will report to Managing Director Pasi Vainio.
